After halting production of “Maytime” due to producer Irving Thalberg’s death, production on the new version was to begin this week with director John M. Stahl (“Back Street”, “Imitation of Life,” “Parnell”) and a new script by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett (“Naughty Marietta”, “Rose Marie”).
