Busby Berkeley to direct Nelson and Kathryn Grayson in “Lucky Star” which was to be Nelson’s last film at MGM (in which he played duo roles). But later in the week it was announced that Nelson had to pay all monies earned from MGM that year to break his contract and leave the studio. (“Lucky Star” was never made.)
