1940 On this date, Nelson is released into his mother's care after 2 weeks in the hospital. Along with medical issues, he had suffered a complete breakdown. Jeanette, who has just returned from her concert tour, was unable to be smuggled into the hospital to see him for fear of scandal but she makes a guest appearance also on this date on "Chase & Sanborn," singing "Lover, Come Back to Me" on the air for him. This cheers him and after the broadcast she drives directly to Isabel's and surprises him. It is the first time they've seen each other in many months and with her staying with him at Isabel's, he finally now begins to recover his health.
