1939Immediately upon returning from Las Vegas where the previous day she unhappily witnessed her son's marriage to Ann Franklin, Isabel Eddy visits Twin Gables, comforts suicidal Jeanette and vows to remain friends with her. Isabel always viewed Jeanette as "my daughter" and was a more caring, compassionate "parent" than Anna MacDonald.
