Happy Birthday Jeanette MacDonald! A new era of truth begins!
Happy Birthday, Jeanette MacDonald.
There are several things to celebrate today.
You are not alone today. You have friends and fans worldwide who not only appreciate your talent but who give a damn about the sacrifices you made and the agonies that were suffered. They understand the troubles were in part self-inflicted but the consequences undeserved nonetheless. Good people like yourself should not have had to endure such pain.
Fifty years after your passing, those who helped keep the secrets have fallen by the wayside….and their lies and/or denials are now being exposed. We truly thought this would occur after the death of Gene Raymond; apparently that was premature but there’s no stopping it now in 2015.
From Nelson Eddy’s earliest known surviving written declaration of “I love you” to his “Dearest Jeanette”, to your own handwritten comments about how it really was to live with Gene Raymond in your last years, these are truths that are being reinforced at long last.
You can breathe a sigh of relief. And for that reason, on this particular birthday we post this photo of you with Nelson from 1938. You and he shared a private secret and there was hope for the future in what was probably one of your happiest birthday parties.
Forget the pretense anymore and embrace the truth.
Folks, there is more to come…and to celebrate.

And the truth shall set you free! At long last, the liberation of Jeanette A. MacDonald — let freedom ring! Thank you Sharon, for your unwavering commitment to telling the truth. You are one of the heroes of this story too! The people who kept this hidden are gone but unfortunately the harm they did to Jeanette and Nelson cannot be undone and their legacy of secrets and lies has done it’s damage. Hopefully, the healing can at last begin.

Thank you Sharon. I read that and wept, not just for Jeanette and her beloved Nelson, but for you too, because after all the name calling and nasty messages sent your way we are now fast approaching the time where those who doubted will be made to realize that what Blossom told you, along with others, was the truth which you conveyed so truthfully to all of us. Thank you so much for all you do to keep Jeanette and Nelson’s names to the fore and know you are loved for soldiering on through all the flack.

Thank you indeed, all of you, who work so hard to set the record straight! I sincerely believe that those two sweethearts are together – they have to be! What a tragedy, what a story! One wants to weep, and shout, and cheer, and condemn, all these emotions that this story evokes in one – and the wonder of it is, thanks to people like you, it continues, and the truth is being revealed, and we can share in it. Thank you, thank you. I am typing through my tears!
