Happy Birthday, Blossom Rock! (1895-1978)

Today is the birthday of Jeanette MacDonald’s older sister, Blossom Rock. A character actress in over 100 films under the stage name Marie Blake, you may remember her best in her recurring role as “Sally” in the MGM Dr. Kildare series starring Lew Ayres and Lionel Barrymore. Blossom finally found stardom as a senior citizen, starring as “grandmama” in the original TV series, “The Addams Family.” You can listen to a radio interview with her from 1965, after Jeanette’s death.
