It’s a sci-fi type love story written under a pseudonym of Laurrie Garner, who had a relationship with Nelson Eddy off and on during times when he was broken up with Jeanette. Per her own admission, the main male character is based on the Nelson she knew.
1933Newspaper reports state Nelson has reported threatening phone calls, that "something tragic would happen to him in the near future." The Los Angeles District Attorney assigned Nelson bodyguards just in case, as one paper noted that Nelson's mother, Isabel, was very concerned. This was the first instance of "threatening phone calls" Nelson would receive over the years.
