Ahoy all Jeanette MacDonald & Nelson Eddy fans…There’s more than a week left – you can still make a reservation and come with us on the cruise!

If you have questions about the lives or films of Jeanette MacDonald or Nelson Eddy, author Sharon Rich will be on hand to answer questions. We will screen some of the best Jeanette and Nelson films plus rare private footage and interviews with people that knew Jeanette or Nelson.

This weekend we finalized our booking for the initial group of guests on our cruise. We are pleased to let you know that we are able to offer some group amenities. Each cabin gets $100 shipboard credit which can be used for anything except excursions. In addition, each cabin will have a bottle of champagne and chocolates to greet you when you arrive!

Jeanette MacDonald Nelson Eddy “New Moon” in the news!

New Moon is quite newsworthy these days, even if they’re not always talking about the Jeanette MacDonald – Nelson Eddy version.

It’s the Twilight Saga version, and one can certainly find comparisons between the Nelson Eddy fan mania of the 1930s and the Robert Pattinson mania of today.

With the new New Moon hitting theaters on November 20, Twilight fever should escalate (is that possible?) over the next few months. So it seems fitting to screen “our” New Moon on the cruise, as one of the three Jeanette-Nelson films.

Read this if you are flying to Baltimore!

If you are flying to Baltimore for the cruise, make sure your flight arrives at the airport no later than 2 pm on February 7. For your return flight on February 14, make sure you book a flight home leaving at 2:30 pm or later. You can take a cab from the airport to the ship (should cost about $30 one way) but you may prefer to use Carnival’s transfer service, which is $25 each way ($50 round trip). The benefit of this is that they will pick you up at baggage claim and then make sure you leave the ship after the cruise and get you back to the airport in plenty of time for your flight.

The Mac/Eddy cruise is officially scheduled! Our Valentine’s Week 2009 cruise was so successful that we are doing it again in ‘10!

I will update this site as needed with news pertaining to the cruise. Right now the important thing is to make your initial reservation immediately for the best choice of cabin and also to lock in the best price.

On the last cruise, Hallie Neill helped us with all the booking and showed me the ropes of setting up a Jeanette-Nelson cruise. This time I will be working with you directly – and my husband will be helping us as well.

Please note that while all cruise payments will be charged directly to Carnival Cruises, the $100 Convention Fee can be paid at our regular website, www.maceddy.com
