Thank you for sending the links to the MacDonald/Eddy Holiday music.  I NEVER get tired of listening
to them.  They were my very first album I bought with earned money from doing ironing back in 1978.  I would play their album on my stereo and do housework for my mother.

I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.

And again, I loved reading your book.  I never had a clue they were lovers until then, but I kind of suspected it.

September 11…a patriotic day during a most passionate election season! Whether you are rooting for a blue candidate or a red – there’s no doubt that this year, the newly elected US President/Vice President combo will bring change to our country!

Since I had already planned to listen to Jeanette and Nelson singing some patriotic songs to help cheer my day (my husband worked in the World Trade Center but luckily was home that day) – just thought I would share these links for those who have not downloaded these mp3 songs:

Singer Jo Stafford passed away on July 16, 2008.

As a young girl, she wanted to be an opera singer but during the Depression years, she sang with her sisters in a pop group – “The Stafford Sisters.” She later sang with The Pied Pipers. Song of the stars she worked with included Tommy Dorsey, Frank Sinatra, Frankie Lane, Johnny Mercer, Gordon MacRae and – Nelson Eddy!

On February 12, 1951, Nelson Eddy and Jo Stafford recorded “I Love You Truly.”

On February 23, 1951, they recorded three more songs: “Till We Meet Again,” “With These Hands,” and “When I Grow Too Old to Dream.”

The 1936 recording of “Indian Love Call” sung by Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy from the movie Rose Marie has been chosen as a 2008 inductee into the Grammys Hall of Fame! You can read the official Grammys Press Release with the list of new inductees at this link.
